Originally emerging from the British punk and rock underground in the late 70s, Daniel and Kevin, along with vocalist Peter Murphy and bassist David J, Bauhaus spawned four iconoclastic and ultra-seminal albums as well as keystone singles “She’s In Parties”, “Ziggy Stardust”, and, of course, “Bela Lugosi’s Dead” before disbanding in 1983. Rising from the rubble, Daniel and Glenn Campling collaborated soon after as the short-lived but no less impactful Tones on Tail (with Kevin joining the fray soon after), and pumped out midnight dancefloor classics such as “Ok This Is the Pops”, “Christian Says” and the smash “Go!” (which has recently appeared in the We’re the Millers trailer and was most recently re-recorded for the upcoming Power Rangers film). Next, the duo reunited with Bauhaus bassist David J. and hit the mainstream with the formation of Love and Rockets through the 1989 hit single “So Alive” which reached Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Now as Poptone, Daniel and Kevin are revisiting their storied catalogue and presenting in a fresh, new direction, to combine their histories with a reinvigorated outlook for new tours and potentially new music.

No more than three producers (Dr. Dre, RZA, and Prince Paul) can test DJ Premier’s status as the most important trackmaster of the ’90s, and no style is more distinctive. Aggressive and raw, a Premier track was an instantly recognizable soundclash of battling loops and heavy scratching — all of them perfectly timed — that evoked the sound of Brooklyn better than anyone. Besides helming tracks for his main concern, Gang Starr, since their 1989 debut, Premier’s productions appeared on many of the East Coast’s most important records: Nas’ Illmatic, the Notorious B.I.G.’s Ready to Die, Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt, Jeru the Damaja’s The Sun Rises in the East, and Mos Def’s Black on Both Sides.

Moon Letters: After cracking the lunar syntax, these faithful brethren harnessed a superfluity of hot licks, haunting melodies, and hypnotic rhythms. Upon cohering, they produced a concept album to be presented at length in 2017.

Pinto Wagonfire is a newer Seattle band with its individual roots spanning over three decades of writing and performance. Joseph, Dave, and Tom last performed together in the mid-90’s band Chalkline Dogs. With the recent addition of drummer Will Bagby (from So-Cal jazz-rock group Rullian, among others) the spark for making music together was reignited.

OMNI – A love of music from influences such as King Crimson, Peter Gabriel, and Brian Eno all the way to Boards of Canada, Killing Joke, Faith No More, and Death Grips/Hella inform the sound. The goal has always been to bring in visceral emotion in balance with competence of musicianship.

Paraesthesia has been together as a project entity since 2007, when the foursome of Robert Svilpa, Paul Harrington, John Hernandez and Mark Parris began writing and rehearsing new material with the intention of recording a full band CD. Through the next two and a half years, both the band and the music morphed and changed into what eventually came out as the album “a fine line between…”

Jakob Singer

7:00pm  9:00pm

Jakob moved to Seattle in January of 2010; where he joined up with Jacob Yackshaw and Peter Reni and formed the Relentless Rhythm Machine. After playing to empty bars across Seattle for a year, the band joined forces with the very talented Tanner and Amy McInerney, and The Weatherside Whiskey Band was born. WWB’s boot stomping rhythms, catchy melodies, and strong group of friends and family soon had them packing Seattle’s most famous venues. Weatherside has put out two albums of original tunes and a series of music videos in the short time they have been together, with no plan of slowing till they reach the top.

Stephanie Porter is a premier jazz vocalist who lives to sing.  Her recordings have charted on the top 10 nationally and internationally.  Musically inspired at an early age. Stephanie found herself mesmerized by music and the many layers of interpretations of songs by both instrumentalists, as-well-as vocalists.  Moved particularly by jazz and it’s progression of energy combined with cool.
